Prof Boualem Boashash, Chairman, ISSPA 07, said since its beginning in 1987, this symposium had emerged as a premier event dedicated to signal processing research and applications.

Every two years, the symposium brings together international researchers and engineers from universities, state laboratories, industrial groups and business houses, offering them a unique forum to facilitate and encourage close collaborations.

Previous meetings were held in Australia, Malaysia and France. The 2007 meeting marks the 20th anniversary of the symposium and will be held for the first time in an Arab country.
