The actress stated this while addressing the media in Dubai in connection with the promotion of her latest movie ‘Life in a Metro’. In the movie, Shilpa is playing the role of a woman who is involved in an extra-marital relationship.

The actress, of late, has been at the centre of controversies be it the so-called 'racist' episode in a reality show or the infamous hug-and-kiss drama involving Hollywood star Richard Gere.

Shilpa said the Gere chapter was taken advantage of by some people to extract some political mileage. "I didn't hurt the sensitivity of a majority of Indians. It was just a minority of people who made a big fuss out of it," she said.

"Most of the people in India don't care about it. They are sensible enough to understand things positively," she added.
