During the meeting, Dr Shaikh Sultan gave instructions to reward associations, which had directed all their efforts towards accomplishing voluntary work and to encourage more youth to be involved in voluntary work and participate in the award. Dr Shaikh Sultan also stressed on the role needs to be played by the parents of children to introduce them to the concept of voluntary work and to encourage them to perform voluntary work without waiting for any outcome.

Dr Ameen Al Amiri, Secretary-General of the Award, said the function to honour the winners of the award would be held on December 28. "Nine distinguished personalities will be awarded at this year's cycle of award including four women and two humanitarian associations. We have a new category added to this year's award, which is the blood donors. Eight blood donors who donated blood more than five times in the last one year will be given awards," Dr Al Amiri said.

Awards would also be given to 12 winners out of 17 nominees who accomplished voluntary work, added Dr Al Amiri.
