Sharjah resident gets Mazda car in Read & Win promotion

DUBAI - Shalini Kishore, a Sharjah resident, won a brand new Mazda car in the final draw of the 'Read & Win' promotion that ran between June 1 and July 31.

The draw was held yesterday at the premises of Khaleej Times, in the presence of Abdullatif Mohammad Marzouki, Coordinator Business Control at the Control Division Section of the Department of Economic Development, Monisha Macleod, Marketing Manager of the Gold World Council, and Abdul Salam Karar, Circulation Manager of Khaleej Times.

On the ocassion, Ms Macleod said: "The promotion was fantastic, readers bought the paper on daily basis to take part in the daily draws, and the mega draw on the Mazda car was also another advantage".

Mr Marzouki said that the draws were supervised by the department, and explained the department's efforts to encourage such initiatives aimed at activating the economy.

Talking about the 'Read & Win' promotions of Khaleej Times, he observed that the promotions have attracted an increasing number of people to participate in the draw, hailing the credibility of Khaleej Times and its continuous efforts to support such initiatives.

Readers flocked to the offices of Khaleej Times, Baskin Robbins outlets and Mazda showrooms to fill in coupons to win Dh1,000 worth of gold from Atlas Jewellery daily.

For many readers the two-month promotion was a windfall. They received Dh1,000 voucher from Atlas.

All those who had a stamped coupon from Atlas were eligible for the final draw of the car. Mr Karar said that there were more than 1,000 coupons that were collected every day and the draws were conducted by officials from the Department of Economic Development at the main office. "It was an excellent opportunity for us to interact with our readers and ensure that they get more out of reading our newspaper."
