Sharjah postpones minimum taxi fare implemention
SHARJAH- The Sharjah Transport Corporation (STC) has announced the postponement of implementation of AED10 minimum taxi tariff to the beginning of next month, due to the technical procedures regarding re-calibrating the counters of vehicles.
Ahmed Al Qa’yid, head of franchise taxi vehicles at the STC said that the application of AED10 minimum taxi tariff was deferred to the early October for all taxis operating in the city of Sharjah.
He referred to the application of tariff AED1 for each 620 metres with effect from the first of September, stressing that there will be no increase on meter, which will open with AED3 during the day time hours and AED4 during the night hours.
