Media reports in the last few days have quoted various sources as saying Syrian authorities had asked Sharjah Police to arrest Mohammed Zuhair Al Siddiq, a former Syrian intelligence officer, through Interpol, and that arrest had been made. However, no authorities have officially confirmed it.

“We can’t deny the arrest and we can’t confirm it. Information will be provided to media only on Wednesday,” Sharjah Police Chief Brigadier Humaid Al Hadidi said.
