It might sound unrealistic. But it is true. Technology has made it possible.
Non-Resident Keralites (NRK) can now watch the weddings and other family functions from inside their homes anywhere in the world by just logging on to the website of a new convention centre launched by a Sharjah- based company in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala.
A specially designed website with the help of CCTV will make available live broadcast of the functions held in the Kottackattu Convention Centre which began its operation in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.
According to KT George, who heads the Shaharco Contracting and Trading LLC which started the new 45,000 square feet convention centre, the NRKs who cannot be present at the weddings of their relatives to be held at the convention centre can log on to the centre’s website and watch all the function live.
“By next week the facility will be operational and we don’t charge any extra money for this service,” George told Khaleej Times.
“We have plans to start similar facilities across the state of Kerala. But we will decide on it later, after analysing the response to convention centre from NRKs,” he said.
The fully air-conditioned convention centre can accommodate 2,200 persons at a time.
