Brig. Salih Al Mutawa, director-general of Sharjah Police, has instructed police officers to ensure safety and security in all parts of the emirate.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Brig Al Mutawa said that patrolling would be intensified during the Eid days at malls, shopping centres, public entertainment centres, and beach areas.

He said that traffic patrolling too would be intensified on the internal roads and streets in the emirate to prevent any traffic bottlenecks.

Brig. Al Mutawa urged the public to cooperate with the police and call the emergency number to inform about any suspicious activities. He also called on motorists to abide by road safety rules to prevent accidents.

The official also appealed to parents not to buy firecrackers for their children. He also urged them to keep watch on their children in parks and other entertainment areas.
