The police have recovered a large number of stolen items from the gang, including large quantities of copper, electric wires, building materials, cables and electricity transformers.
During their interrogation, the gang members have revealed the names of the clients who used to purchase the stolen items from them.
Earlier, a large number of complaints of theft of these items had been filed in various police stations in Sharjah over the past few months, which led the Investigation and Research Section of Sharjah Police to set up a team of CID officers to track down the gang.
The first breakthrough came when two Pakistanis were held in Al Mussala area while changing the number plate of a car, which turned out to be a stolen vehicle.
Another stolen mini-bus being used by the gang was also seized by the police. The number plate of the mini-bus had been changed.
The two Pakistanis, identified as M.A.R, and M.S, admitted they had stolen many cars to use them for lifting items from commercial outlets with help from other partners, including A.F.A.D and M.A.H.
