Sharjah-based Delegation in Yemen for Cancer Conference
SHARJAH - A delegation of Sharjah-based Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) Society is representing UAE at the fourth ‘Head and Neck Cancer Conference’ in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa.
The three-day event, which commenced yesterday, is aimed at raising awareness of cancer in the region.
The conference, organised by the Gulf Federation for Cancer Control (GFCC), is sponsored by FOCP.
“We wanted our participation in this year’s ‘Head and Neck Cancer Conference’ that is bringing together cancer control experts to find new ways of dealing with this malady, as well as raise awareness of the seriousness of cancer,” said Ameera Karam, President of the Board of Trustees of GFCC.
The general meeting of the GFCC will be held after the conference sessions today, where the new board of directors for the next cycle will be nominated.
