Shams 1 reflects UAE’s vision: Hamdan

Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region said the UAE led by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan looks forward to diversifying sources of energy.

He said in a statement on the occasion of inauguration of Shams1 Plant that the project represents one of the main sources of energy diversification and “It is an important strategic transformation with huge environment and economic dimensions, as well as a genuine translation of the vision of leadership on the development of renewable energy solutions towards sustainability.”

Shaikh Hamdan lauded the ambitious steps taken by Masdar, citing the launch of Shams 1 Plant. He also referred to the visit paid by the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and the former Korean President Lee Myung-bak to Barakah site for construction of power plants, being part of the civil nuclear programme.
