Shaikh Sultan orders police probe into indecent wedding dance video

The video showed a man dancing in an indecent manner, and a woman dancer lying on the floor.

Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has ordered a police investigation following the circulation of a video showing men and a woman dancing in an improper manner at a wedding in Khorfakkan, Sharjah.

Terming it a disgrace incident, he instructed the police to arrest all those involved, including those who organised the event, in order the protect the youth of the society.

The video showed a man dancing in an indecent manner, and a woman dancer lying on the floor, who was slapped in the face by Khalid Horiya, a football fan and business owner, during a wedding ceremony in the house of a popular TV sports programme presenter Adnan Hamad.

The video, which was being circulated on social media, provoked anger among Emirati and Arab communities.

A police official said Shaikh Sultan's orders were already being executed, and the police were also searching for the individual who shot the video, as well as the person who shared the video on social media.

The sports programme presented by Hamad, who organized the wedding ceremony for his son, will be stopped until the investigation is over.
