Second phase of DSS beckons with lure of cash bonanza

The second phase of mega promotion for ‘Eid in Dubai’ and Dubai Summer Surprises 2014 (DSS) will start today with up to Dh4 million worth of prizes in cash and Dh500,000 in shopping vouchers to be won.

Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) and Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG), the month-long first phase ended June 28 after four weeks of fun and entertainment for families and children.

Hundreds of visitors and shoppers in Dubai are expected to be attracted to the promotions that lead up to the Eid Al Fitr celebrations. By just spending Dh200 at any of the participating malls across the Ramadan and Eid season, they stand a chance to win the Dh500,000 mega prize. Five shopping vouchers worth Dh25,000 called Eidyat are also to be won on each of the three days of Eid. An additional raffle will also be held on July 26 with five other winners walking away with prizes worth Dh25,000.

The participating malls are Al Ain Centre, Al Barsha Mall, Al Bustan Centre, Al Ghurair Centre, Al Manal Centre, Al Mulla Plaza, Arabian Centre, Bin Sougat Centre, BurJuman Centre, Century Mall, City Walk, Dubai Outlet Mall, Ethihad Mall, Ibn Batutta Mall, Karama Centre, Lamcy Plaza, Madina Mall, Mazaya Shopping Centre, Oasis Centre, Palm Strip Shopping Mall, Reef Mall, Sunset Mall, The Beach, Times Square Centre, Twin Tower and WAFI.

‘Eid in Dubai’ and Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) cover the months of July to September, and the promotion is a part of the ‘Summer is Dubai’ campaign by DFRE, an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).

Majid Al Ghurair, chairman of Dubai Shopping Malls Group, said, “This year the first phase of the said campaign has seen a sharp increase in the number of visitors and sales at our participating malls. The final days of the promotion between August 2 and September 5 will see a few lucky shoppers winning six BMW Luxury cars and Dh500,000 in shopping vouchers.
