Salsa for Lebanon' s cause in Dubai

DUBAI — Moved by the recent happenings in Lebanon where children have been gravely affected by more than three weeks of unabated military conflict, a Dubai resident and former dance instructor has organised a Salsa Charity Event at the Crowne Plaza Dubai Ballroom today at 7:30pm in an effort to raise funds for the people of the embattled country.

"I'd been agonising over what I could do to help the people of Lebanon. It's just horrible what's happening there. I am a mum of two kids and I cannot understand why innocent people, especially children, have to suffer like that," Tami Fowlie said in a telephone interview with Khaleej Times.

A donation of Dh30 will be solicited from people attending the salsa, which will feature a one-hour class starting at 8pm to be facilitated by Fowlie and her team at the Crowne Plaza Dubai Ballroom. This will be followed by a dance party, featuring DJ Andresito of Dubai Eye's Latin Show.
