The CEO of Dubai Taxi, Abdul Aziz Malik, said the service would soon be introduced in coordination and cooperation between the RTA and the Sharjah Transport.

According to the current rule, a Sharjah taxi is allowed to take passengers to Dubai, but not from Dubai to Sharjah. The same applies to taxis from Dubai which can take passengers to Sharjah, but not from Sharjah to Dubai. Violation of this rule exposes them to the risk of fines.

“We are thinking about this and it is one of our future plans. We are coordinating with our counterparts in Sharjah. We want to introduce a system in which the taxis can go full and come back full as well. A decision in this connection would be taken soon,” he said.

Malik also talked about taxis exclusively for the tourists. “We would also start taxis exclusively for the tourists. These taxis would tour round the emirate taking tourists to locations they prefer,” he added.
