Royal photographer honoured by varsity

DUBAI — Royal photographer Noor Ali Rashid was recently honoured by Zayed University in recognition of his pioneering role in the field of education and historical photography in the UAE and appreciation for the aesthetic excellence of his visual artistry.

Dr Hanif Al Qassimi, Vice-President of Zayed University presented a digitally-certified 'Smart Certificate' to Noor Ali Rashid at a ceremony attended by senior members of the university faculty, students and leading media personalities.

Dr Al Qassimi also declared the institution of an annual 'Noor Ali Award', to be presented to the best ZU media student. Besides, his book Shaikh Zayed: Life and Times — detailing achievements of the President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in various spheres of development and leadership since becoming the Ruler of Abu Dhabi in 1966 and then President of the UAE in 1971 — was hailed as a highly-accomplished academic text at ZU.

Expressing his thanks to the institution, Mr Rashid paid tribute to the President. “Whatever I am today is due to His Highness, who gave me constant encouragement and advice.”
