Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority Chairman Shaikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi will inaugurate the exhibition tomorrow at Maraya Art Centre in Al Qasba.

The exhibition is being held in collaboration with the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art of Greece (MMCA).

Roaming Images is a nomadic forum that highlights the concept of image, as a universal vehicle that tells us the story of how we speak, how we think and even envision the future, within art and science while bringing together East and West. It will be on display until 6 August.

Speaking on the occasion, Maraya Art Centre Curator Giuseppe Moscatello said ‘The emirate of Sharjah, as a hub for innovators and artists, is keen to attract and publicize the finest intellectual productions, literary compositions and artistic outputs from all over the world, and we are delighted with this initiative.

‘Roaming Images is an important exhibition; not only because of the artists associated with the event, which includes Paolomaria, Khalil Abdulwahid, Ammar Al Attar, Mark Pilkington, Ebtisam Abdulaziz and Noor Al Suwaidi, among others, and because it will be inaugurated from Sharjah to reach Greece, but also because it offers a brief overview of the West, represented by Greece, and the East, represented by the emirate of Sharjah, in particular, and the UAE, in general. It is activities such as this that will contribute to the strengthening of ties of cooperation in the finest intellectual productions,’ he added.
