Road project completed

ABU DHABI — The Department of Municipalities and Agriculture in Abu Dhabi Municipality has completed the internal roads project in Sector 30-Z, Madinat Mohammed bin Zayed.

Currently, 279 houses are located in the area, 30 km from the city of Abu Dhabi. The length of the internal roads built recently is 13 km.

Eng. Ibrahim Mohammed Rasoul Khouri, Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Department of Roads and Transport, said the project was in line with the directives of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who stress on providing better facilities in the residential areas for UAE citizens.

Eng. Khouri added that the Dh59 million project was implemented withing the stipulated time.

The project includes sidewalks for pedestrians, a network for draining out rain water, traffic sign boards, water and electricity networks, and lighting.

Aid for Yemen

ABU DHABI — The UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) has sent to relief aid worth Dh55 million to Yemen over the past decade, officials have said.

Khalifa Nasser Al Suweidi, Chairman of the UAE RCS, said following the directives of Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and President of the RCS, the organisation is paying a lot of attention to the current situation in Yemen and is trying to provide its people with all support.

Sanaa Darwish Al Katby, General Secretary of the UAE RCS, said the organisation had carried out several projects in Yemen in health, education and public services.
