A.E was convicted for stabbing UAE nationals A.M and his relative M.S. The latter was struck with a knife three times in the back.

As per court records, the incident happened in a park in Jumeirah in December 2005. A.M and A.E had had a fight on an earlier occasion. On seeing each other on the day of the incident, they started quarrelling again during which A.E stabbed A.M, and as M.S intervened to rescue his relative, he too was stabbed.

The two stab victims were taken to the hospital where they were treated for 20 days before being discharged.

At the time of the incident, A.E was 18 years old. The court had sentenced him to five years in prison in absentia as he had been evading arrest. Following his arrest, the court started his re-trial.
