The total revenue collection on Saturday will be donated to the "Appeal for Lebanon", a humanitarian relief campaign launched by Unicef.

The donation will come from all Shamiana outlets across the UAE, including those in Dubai (BurJuman Centre, Deira City Centre, Knowledge Village, Al Reef Mall, Ibn Battuta Mall, and Mall of the Emirates), as well as Abu Dhabi (Abu Dhabi Mall) and Sharjah (Sharjah City Centre and Sahara Mall).

Avinash Bal, vice-chairman and chief executive officer of Hotbrands International, said: "We are deeply disturbed by the tragedy unfolding in Lebanon. There is much to do in Lebanon, especially for the relief of war victims, and the infrastructure that has been destroyed by the conflict. By contributing an entire day's revenue from all Shamiana restaurants, we would like to do our bit for humanitarian relief work in Lebanon."
