Al Shamsi said renovation is being done in order to elevate its status as a heritage monument reflects the originality and civilisation of Fujairah.

The Fujairah Heritage Village is being given much importance because of its attractive location in downtown Fujairah city, added Al Shamsi.

“This project started in 1998. The entire fort from inside has been restored.

“Even the houses surrounding the village, including the house of the ruling family and dwellers’ houses, have been restored,” noted Al Shamsi.

The materials used in the renovation process, he said, were the same as used in the olden time.

“Fujairah is an emirate where the past ancestry blends with the present originality,” he pointed out.
