Relief aid for Sudanese flood victims

DUBAI — A plane carrying 100 tonnes of relief supplies for flood victims from the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Humanitarian and Charitable Works left here for Sudan yesterday.

Ibrahim Bu Melha, Deputy Chairman of the Foundation, said the relief goods included essential foodstuff, blankets, tents and clothes.

A delegation headed by Saleh Zaher, director of the foundation, also left on the plane to oversee relief operations. The foundation has drawn a programme for asistance to the people in Al Nasr town where most of homes of 900 families were washed away by floods.
