The committees, set up for Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region, have been authorised to seek assistance from judges and experts on legal and technical issues while resolving any dispute.

The decision comes as part of the comprehensive development plan implemented at the judicial department.

The move will ensure faster disposal of cases of disputes without resorting to the courts of law.

According to the system, the civil disputes will be referred to a reconciliation committee which will try to strike an amicable settlement between the parties to a dispute. If the disputing parties fail to reach such a settlement, the committee will forward the case to a court of law to be tried in accordance with the code of civil procedure.
