Naz Nizari, Senior Vice-President of EmQuest, said that the re-branding is a reflection of their vision for the future as they take advantage of the availability of modern technologies and the active travel sector both locally and regionally.

“Galileo Emirates has evolved from being just a global distribution systems (GDS) distributor to a regional content provider of travel services. We want to reposition ourselves by expanding our offerings and explore new dimensions for the travel services community” she said.

Under EmQquest, the travel services industry can access the following products: Galileo by Travelport, a global distribution system for travel agents; travelsouQ, a marketplace portal for hosting and trading of regional travel content through the use of a mobile device like a cellphone; Rezgateway, a fast and cost effective online solutions for inventory management, dynamic packaging, back-office and system integration; VRS, a modern airline reservation system enabling small and mid-sized airlines to host and distribute their inventory; BOSS and Castaway, both in-house developed products for back, mid and front office solutions.

Although EmQuest directly deals with the technological requirements of travel agents and airlines, Nizari said these features are eventually beneficial to passengers.
