RCS charity touches over Dh2.29m in first quarter

FUJAIRAH — The combined value of charity and humanitarian projects implemented by the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) has touched Dh2.294 million during the first quarter of the current year, an RCS official has announced.

The charity projects include special assistance for orphans, amounting to Dh242,000.

Suhil Rashid Al Qadhi, Director of the Red Crescent Society in Fujairah, said the Fujairah branch had been able to expand its services among vulnerable groups.

Al Qadhi added that the charity projects implemented by the Fujairah branch this year included a Dh246,000-assistance for Aids victims.

He said the RCS was providing assistance to orphans in countries like Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen, Sudan, Togo, Kazakhstan, Somalia, and Palestine.
