This was announced by the RCA's Local Higher Committee for Assistance at a meeting Monday. The meeting was chaired by Mohammed Habroush Al Rumaithi, Deputy Secretary General for Local Affairs.

The committee discussed a host of issues, including arrangements for Ramadan. The committee also reviewed the ongoing preparations for launching charity programmes in Ramadan. The volume of assistance extended to local institutions in the first half of the year was also discussed.

''The committee has decided to extend financial and material assistance to a number of organisations, including Sharjah and Al Ain education zones, Fujairah Social and Cultural Society, Humaid Abdul Aziz Secondary School, Somali Cultural Centre in Ras Al Khaimah, and Labour Ministry's Social Development Office in Umm Al Quwain,'' Al Rumaithi noted.
