ABU DHABI — A Red Crescent delegation, carrying 40 tonnes of aid to the Sichuan province, reached China on Sunday.
On arrival at Chengdu Airport in Sichuan province, the RCA delivered the first relief shipment to the Chinese Red Cross in the presence of UAE Ambassador to China Mohammed Rashid Al Bot and Kong Juen Liang, representative of the Chinese Red Cross and representative of the Chinese governmental's relief committee to supervise relief operations in Sichuan province.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Zarouni, Head of the RCA delegation to China, said the aid comprised shelter supplies, including blankets, and tents.
Liang said the aid received from the UAE RCA plane was immediately despatched to be distributed to the earthquake victims.
