The images of some of the major landmarks of Abu Dhabi are also on display.

The exhibition - Abu Dhabi, the Ancient and the Modern - is being organised by ADAC, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO), the statement added.

Mohammed Al Katheeri, ADAC Deputy Chief Operating Officer, said, “At a time when Abu Dhabi is heading towards a spectacular era in its development, a look into the past would tell how far we have come. And this cannot be demonstrated more eloquently than through pictures.”

The exhibition features some rare pictures of the early oil explorations and the beginnings of construction work on what was to become some of Abu Dhabi’s landmarks such as the Al Maqtaa Bridge and Hilton Hotel.

The exhibition is put up in the hallway leading to the transit area of Terminal 1.
