For the second year in a row, the Khalifa bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation made agreements with more than 600 Emirati families to prepare 1.7 million Iftar meals to be given out to the poor during the month of Ramadan, Khouri said in a press conference.

109 centers nationwide are ready to distribute the Foundation’s meals with 21 centers in Abu Dhabi (363000 meals by the end of Ramadan), 10 in Dubai and 10 in Sharjah, he noted.

“The project further promotes humanitarian solidarity during the holy month and underscores the Foundation’s mission statement and efforts to help underprivileged people sustain difficult living conditions,” he said.

“The Foundation’s project also embodies the noble humanitarian values upheld by our religion (Islam) and the Emirati community.”

In Ramadan last Ramadan, the Foundation distributed 1.8 million people nationwide. Sponsors of the project spare no effort to support the initiative,” Khouri further said.
