“The total cost of the project is Dh60 million and it will be located in the Khzam neighbourhood,” a senior RM official told Khaleej Times.

The multi-storeyed building will have a unique design that combines traditional Islamic architecture with a modern look.

“Besides the administrative offices of the three departments, it will have a mosque, cafeterias and other amenities like central AC and fire-fighting systems,” the official said. There will also be parking lots with shades, fountains and landscaped gardens, he added.

The civic body is giving the final touches to the new fish and vegetable markets in Al Maireed, RAK Old City, and Degdagah. Maintenance works are also being carried out in RAK-Shaam Road that links the RAK Old City with the Kohour Kiwair Industrial Area, Saqer Port and the Sultanate of Oman.
