Abdulla Ali Masabbeh, director of RAK Education Zone, said they had received the money granted to the needy students in government schools and it would soon be distributed among the beneficiaries.

“The money will be distributed to the orphans, needy students and those children whose parents cannot afford to pay for their tuition fees. We are cooperating with the managements of different schools to select the list of the needy students,” said Ali Masabbeh. He said that many poor students in the emirate would benefit from this gesture by Shaikh Mohammed.

“Scores of needy students have been approaching us for help and now they will get the aid,” he added.

Ali Masabbeh noted that each student in public schools would be given around Dh10,000 and the beneficiaries would include both UAE nationals and residents in the emirate.

He hailed Shaikh Mohammed for his generosity and his support to the needy students in the UAE.

This donation by Shaikh Mohammed to the needy students in RAK is part of the Dh30 million charitable project that will cover as many as 3,000 families in the UAE under the Dubai Cares initiatives, which was launched early this month by Shaikh Mohammed.
