Twin towers span over a 794,000 square feet plot and offer 1,006 apartments
Ras Al Khaimah - With an aim to appreciate taxi drivers’ unstinted services to the people of Ras Al Khaimah, the RAK Hospital — the flagship brand of Arabian Healthcare Group — distributed over 500 food packages among the cabbies of the Northern Emirates.
The packages were given away from 4pm to 6pm at the hospital venue on Thursday, as part of the hospital’s Ramadan charity drive. The gesture was welcomed by the drivers who lined up at the hospital to receive their share. Besides food packages, the RAK Hospital also gave away free vision screening vouchers to the cabbies.
“Cabbies all over the world have played a key contribution in easing life for commuters, but often their services go unnoticed. RAK Hospital, however, has always valued their services and through various means shown their appreciation to the community,” the hospital said in a statement. The vision screening facility is available at the hospital’s state-of-the-art Eye Care Centre, which was launched last year. “The centre has proved to be the preferred choice for ophthalmic services, courtesy its super surgical platform and its commitment to high safety standards.” The complimentary eye test will be enormously helpful to the cabbies, since a good vision is a prerequisite to safe driving and many of them cannot afford expensive eye care.
“Although we come across taxi drivers in our regular line of commute, few of us realise the importance of this community. It is largely because of them that we are able to manage smooth travel between our destinations, while they slog through long hours in extreme weathers. Distributing food packages and vision screening vouchers is but a small token of appreciation by the RAK Hospital to these unsung heroes,” said Dr Raza Siddiqui, CEO of Arabian Healthcare Group and Executive Director of RAK Hospital.
