The heavy rain on Masafi Mountains was accompanied by lightning and thunder. The sudden downpour saw streams of water gushing down the mountains to bring the much-needed relief to the area.

Elsewhere, temperatures in the other emirates including Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, continued to hover around the 40-plus mark. Residents, however, heaved a sigh of relief as the dust storms which had been playing havoc in the past few day, settled. Visibility also improved in Dubai, which had seen a spate of accidents during the dust storms.
