Rain forecast for today

ABU DHABI - Windy conditions in Abu Dhabi, with rains in some parts of Dubai and Northern Emirates on Tuesday, were an indication of the shape of things to come, with more rain forecast for today by the Ministry of Communications in its special bulletin.

According to the Weather Forecasting Bureau of the Ministry, a low pressure over the northern areas of the country, and adjoining areas of southern Iran, caused slight to moderate rain over Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and the adjoining areas. The bulletin also predicted rain over the northern areas and said clouds had developed over the areas.

Today partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are likely to prevail, with a chance of rain. Day temperatures are likely to remain unchanged, the bulletin said.

On Tuesday, cold winds were the order of the day in Abu Dhabi, with fair to cloudy weather prevailing, and temperatures dropped about three degrees below normal, recording a maximum of 24 degrees centigrade, and a minimum of 17 degrees centigrade.

Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah recorded highs of 23 degrees, as did Al Ain, Ajman and Delma Island.
