The project implemented by Unesco with the help from Sharjah is a unique garden which will house all the plants mentioned in the Holy Quran and Prophet’s Tradition. Apart from a vast area of land, Dr Shaikh Sultan had made an initial donation of $600,000 to implement this ambitious project which is looked upon by the environmentalists as first of its kind anywhere in the world.

Cultural heritage

Unesco representative in Gulf region Dr Hamad Yusef Al Hamami said that the project reflects the intellectual cooperation the world body is showing to strengthen the relations between cultural heritage and the ecological diversification in the Arab world.

The project once finished can be a large garden stretching along the coastal emirate or a cluster of small gardens where several rare plants will be grown.
