Launched yesterday at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), Qalam is part of a set of cultural projects of ADACH that are meant to attract the young UAE generation into the spiritually rich world of arts and culture.

According to Jumaa Al Qubaisi, General Manager of ADIBF and of the National Library in Abu Dhabi, the new initiative is aimed at not only Emirati authors but also all Arab expatriates in the UAE as well as writers from other GCC countries. ‘In the first phase, though, we are concentrating on local writers, especially young ones,’ said Al Qubaisi.
