This was announced yesterday by Engineer Faray Hassan Al Mazrouie, Director of the Department of Public Gardens at Abu Dhabi Municipality.

The approved companies will be assigned various duties like site irrigation, the upkeep of the grass lawns and sanitary works, in addition to the maintenance of various other infrastructural facilities.

The contracts will cover Abu Dhabi Island and the area from Suwaihan to Ghantout, including all gardens, especially those located in residential areas, Al Mazrouie added.

He said that several sandy areas will also be given a green cover once the main sewage water supply networks and pumping stations can provide the water required for irrigating these patches.

The private sector companies will conduct a comprehensive survey of all the sanitary water supply networks in the coming three months and prepare a detailed feasibility report.

The aim is to evolve an efficient and integrated plan for the maintenance of all gardens and parks throughout the year.
