The study highlights the adverse impact of corruption on development and stability and security in society.

On the economic level, corruption drives away capitals to countries that are more stable and secure, the study says.

The study further classified ‘administrative corruption’ as ‘crime’ in the UAE legislation. The study elaborated on ‘administrative corruption’ saying that it includes bribes and crimes, which affect the national economy. Embezzlement, usurping others’ money, making profits illegally, taking commissions on works carried out for the government are other 'administrative corruption' crimes, mentioned among others, in the study.

The study recommended that qualified cadres should be given the responsibility for security. The study proposed the adoption of an integrated administrative reform strategy to fight bureaucracy. It also urged reconsideration of legislation to impose tougher penalties on corrupt administrative officials.

The police also assured that the police stations have the necessary mechanisms in place to ensure that any cases related to corruption are uprooted. 'Specialised administration' wings will be set up to combat administrative corruption. In this regard necessary instructions have been given, the police said.
