Dubai —The Dubai Abattoirs have called on the public to use authorised slaughterhouses affiliated to the Dubai Municipality (DM) ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
Ahmed Al Shammari, head of the Abattoir Section at the Department of Public Health of DM, said slaughterhouse guarantees a safe veterinarian checkup before and after the slaughtering of the animal to ensure the animal is fit for human consumption.
Al Shammari added the Dubai Abattoirs at Al Qusais, Al Lesseili, and Hatta, have all geared up to welcome Ramadan and shall remain open everyday from 8am to 4pm. Slaughtering of animals steps up during the holy month since families host Iftar banquet and invite each other to break their fast. The slaughterhouses and machines used for the slaughtering of the livestock have also undergone a thorough inspection, he added. —
