Medical advertisements approved by the MoH carry the permit of the Medical Advertisement Department of the ministry, in addition to a specific number.

The ministry’s move aims at curbing the emerging phenomenon of misleading medical advertisements promoting non-recognised practices and medical products, said Dr Abdul Kareem Al Zarouni, director of the Medical Advertisements Department at the MoH.

Al Zarouni appealed: “Consumers are asked to support the MoH in protecting people’s health from the unscrupulous acts of some firms and individuals.”
