ABU DHABI — The Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution has sought extension in the detention of the 26 people who were recently arrested allegedly from a party of homosexuals in Abu Dhabi. The arrested people include national youths and those from other Arab and Asian countries, an official source told Khaleej Times. The Public Prosecution has recommended a third one-month-long detention, added the source.
"The Public Prosecution has condemned the behaviour of the homosexuals which is disapproved by all religions, as well as Arab traditions," noted the source, adding: "Parents of the arrested youths have also thanked the officials for treating their children in a right way." The source informed that the Public Prosecution has referred the case to Abu Dhabi Shariah Court so that the date of hearing is determined.
