This was announced by Hamid Al Katami, the Minister of Health, after a visit to the hospital. The minister said that a committee would be formed to look into the issue and come up with a project, which will meet the demands from patients and general public.

In fact, the prompt response from the minister is praise-worthy. We are particularly happy with his quick decision on this as we called for the replacement of the hospital building through this column. We hope the new structure will have all the facilities required.

Needless to say, the kind of complex mission that a hospital is perennially engaged in accomplishing will be hindered if it operates from an old structure unfit for the purpose.
