The project comes under Emirates Roads Widening Project being undertaken by the RTA to sort out traffic woes in the emirate and ease traffic movement from and to the car park of Al Rashidiya Metro Station.

The project, awarded to the Emirates Road Contracting Co, includes construction of additional directional ramps at the juncture of Emirates Road and Al Khawaneej Road, in addition to two crossings at Al Khawaneej to ease traffic flow from and to the entry and exit points of Al Rashidiya Metro Station with a total length of around 2.5km.

"These works are part of the RTA's efforts to upgrade the key road networks in the emirate and link the car parks of Metro stations with road networks within the emirate of Dubai,” said Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA.

The Rashidiya parking lot will have a capacity of 2,714 vehicles," he addes.
