Addressing a Press conference, Eisa Adam Ibrahim, chairman of the DSMG, said in addition to the prizes, there are many exciting events and entertainment programmes lined up in the participating malls.
Altogether, there are 23 malls participating in this year's DSS.
"The promotions will include nine weekly draws of Dh500,000 with five shoppers winning Dh100,000 each. On a minimum purchase of Dh200, the customer will automatically receive coupons for entering the raffle.
“Those shoppers using MasterCard will double their chances of winning every time they shop," he said.
The official added the weekly draws will be held on June 26, July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and August 7, 14 and 22 at the participating malls.
"The number of visitors rose up to two million last year from 600,000 in 1998," he said.
Laila Suhail, CEO of the Dubai Shopping Festival Office, appreciated the participation and efforts of the DSMG.
"The DSS visitor spending touched Dh3.21 billion last year and the overall sales at the shopping malls which participated in the DSS surged to Dh825 million, while the restaurant sales hit Dh250 million.
“The airline, hotel and the transportation sectors also registered impressive profits.
“The DSMG has become a principal partner of the DSS," she said.
