Private tuition should stop

HOWEVER much its practitioners try to justify, the practice of private tuition is undesirable for many reasons. It brings about an unhealthy imbalance in the educational system. It widens the gap between those students who can afford the tuition and those who cannot. The teachers who are into private tuition will hardly perform their duties at the schools. Above all, it puts an extra burden on the young ones.

There is no denying the fact that tuition are kind of a lucrative industry in the country today. Several reasons are attributed to this phenomenon. The declining standards of education in the schools is the most bandied about reason. Another is that high standards of curriculum makes it essential for kids to get extra-care.

Whatever the reasons are, the practice should stop forthwith if our educational system is to remain healthy. The Ministry of Education, we feel, must give priority to this issue and crack down on private tuition with immediate effect.

Intelligent students will study and do well in life, and they do not need support of an unhealthy practice to help them come up.
