These exceptional artists will be making their Dubai premieres at Swiss Days 2019: The Blackouts with their stunning LED-Light Show, the stand-up comedian Charles Nguela, and the music group Mozart Heroes, with their original mix of classical elegance and Rock'n'Roll. Swiss Days has been under the patronage of the Swiss Embassy since its beginning in 2009.
On the first evening, January 31, there will be two performers on the bill: Charles Nguela, acclaimed Swiss comedian who won the Swiss Comedy Awards in 2014, and The Blackouts, who have made a name for themselves with their innovative and creative LED Light Show.
On February 1, you can enjoy the musical duo Mozart Heroes. With violoncello and guitar, the two Swiss musicians Chris and Phil rock through various musical eras, combining exquisite classical melodies with brutal rock riffs and epic film scores.
Both evening programmes of SWISS DAYS 2019 start at 8.30 pm and tickets (Dh80 incl. VAT) can be ordered on the Madinat Theatre Dubai website or purchased directly at the Madinat Theatre, Souk Madinat Jumeirah Dubai.
According to HE Maya Tissafi, Ambassador of Switzerland to the UAE and Bahrain: "This year's programme for the Swiss Days promises some memorable performances, lots of laughter and a seriously powerful combination of styles. I encourage everybody to come and experience Switzerland's wilder side."
The Blackouts is a group of LED performance artists based in Switzerland. They blend fascinating acrobatics, dance and illusions with the latest LED technology to create a breathtaking show.
CHARLES NGUELA is the shooting-star of Swiss stand-up comedy and winner of the Swiss Comedy Awards in 2014. Charles has been living in Switzerland for the past 14 years and obviously has picked up on all the traditional as well as curious Swiss characteristics. In his latest show, Helvetia's Secret, he reveals the most intimate mysteries of Swiss society.
The Mozart Heroes are pure passion, electrifying power and classical elegance - a Rock'n'Roll show with adrenalin, vision and bite. They are the heroes of the most explosive all-time musical crossover performance, casting out sparks with their fierce passion - Hard Rock on fire!
Notes Kurt Blum, General Manager of Swiss Art Gate UAE: "Nowhere else in the world are there so many small theatres and concert halls as in Switzerland. There is an abundance of talented artists and musicians in Switzerland, so it is a true pleasure for me to select the perfect artists to present in Dubai for an English-speaking audience. This year I am sure that the three performances I have engaged are sure to impress and amaze!"
