Mahindra is a value-laden automobile, and the technological edge it enjoys has made it invincible. A number of factors such as research and development, after-sales services and competitive price has made it a popular drive. The Indian automobile today enjoys a much broader international reach, and Galadari Automobiles in the UAE has made it a success story.
General Manager of Galadari Automobiles, Axel Dreyer prides in the fact that the petrol variant SUV is capable for off-roading, and the XUV500 is equipped with an automatic transmission with AWD as an option. Its style and perfection can only be experienced once it is in full gear. Mahindra is available in two variants, namely the W8 2WD and the W10 AWD with an automatic gearbox and 6-speed automatic transmission.
Excerpts of an interview with Axel Dreyer:
What inroads has Mahindra made in the UAE?

Galadari Automobiles is proud to be the distributor of Mahindra in the UAE, especially at a time when Mahindra products are sought-after in the international market. There is a strong focus to develop new vehicles with the latest technology, which is why Mahindra's strategy is to increase the footprint of Mahindra cars worldwide. Already Mahindra is competing in the 'Formula E' successfully, which is given the R&D team - a great platform to develop electric drivetrains for future passenger vehicles. Currently in the UAE, our available models are limited to our Compact SUV XUV500 and the Pick-Up commercial line.

What edge Mahindra has over other four-wheelers and cars, and tell us about its specifications?

We definitely have to highlight the durability of the vehicles and the powerful engines. Even our Compact SUV XUV500 is a vehicle that is capable for off-roading and our Pick-up with a strong Turbo Diesel engine is made for heavy use.

Tell us about technological viability of Mahindra?

Mahindra is the owner of Pininfarina, an Italian car design firm that is responsible for many automotive icons, and will impact the design of new Mahindra vehicles. The participation of Mahindra in the Formula E will add tremendous value to the R&D process, and future products, that will also be equipped with electric or hybrid systems.

As the UAE grows from strength to strength, what business potential do you see for automobiles, and what is Galadari's strategy to lead from the front?

The automotive market in the UAE is currently under pressure as the market is becoming more and more mature. Thanks to the great vision and leadership of our country leaders, we are having the best public transport system in the GCC. But still the demand for individual transport and different models of car ownership will accelerate the new car sales in the UAE. Galadari Automobiles Group with its different automotive-related brands and nationwide infrastructure will contribute to an ease of ownership and highest service level.
