The honey was found unfit for consumption.

The police have arrested the Asian man who had stored the honey, Mohammed Jalal Al Rayayseh, head of the Information and Communication Department of ADFCA said. He has been referred to the Public Prosecution.

The official said that the authority came to learn of an Asian man storing large quantity of honey in an old house in Al Ain. Investigations by the ADFCA revealed that the honey was being distributed to three foodstuff shops neighbouring the house.

“We notified the Al Ain Municipality Prosecution which issued an order to inspect the suspicious house,” he added. Al Rayayseh said the Al Ain Community Police kept tabs on the house for two days before it was raided. The honey had been stored in an unhealthy place and was being packed in unhealthy packages.
