His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received a telephone call from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, during which they expressed their deep concerns regarding the Kataeb Hezbollah attacks on Coalition Forces in Iraq.

"The Secretary and the Crown Prince agreed that the US actions taken in response to protect coalition interests were defencive, proportionate, and justified," the US State Department said in a statement.
Pompeo thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the UAE's support and engagement across many regional challenges and agreed to continue to work together to counter Iran's malign behaviour, the statement said.
