FUJAIRAH — A pollution control plan is on the anvil and will be submitted to the Federal National Council for approval before the end of the year, according to Minister of Environment and Water Dr Ahmed bin Fahad.
“Under the plan, modern equipment and systems for controlling oil pollution and monitoring beaches, seaports and regional waters will be made available,’’ he said.
The minister made these remarks during a visit to the
Al Afkham said the visit was part of efforts to regulate the quarrying sector in the emirate.
“The civic body is strictly enforcing the environmental laws to protect the health of the people living near quarries,’’ he added.
